American Airlines and the Transport Workers Union have agreed on a plan to make the overhaul base at Kansas City Internaitonal Airport a profit center. The goal is to have the base generate $150-Million at the end of next year. It’s hoped that can be done with more maintenance work being done for other airlines and through cost reductions in base operations. About 935 people work at the base.
