A hot start didn’t lead to a win for the Missouri women’s basketball team on Wednesday night in Ames, Iowa. The Tigers jumped out to a 15-2 lead on Iowa St., but the Cyclones shot their way back to a 66-60 win over MU.

The Tigers biggest lead of the second half came when EeTisha Riddle hit a jumper to put Mizzou up 41-30 with 15:49 to go. Iowa St. responded by holding the Tigers to just seven field goals the rest of the way. After hitting just 2-of-11 three pointers in the first half, ISU nailed 7-of-15 in the second half. Megan Ronhovde led the Cyclones with 20 points, while Nicky Wieben added 18. Heather Ezell scored 14 points for ISU and dished out 13 assists.

Christelle N’Garsanet scored 24 points for the Tigers and grabbed 12 rebounds, as MU lost its second-straight game. The loss dropped Missouri to 16-6 on the season and 6-4 in the Big 12. They’re tied for fourth in the league with Texas Tech. ISU is 13-8 and 4-6. Going into last Saturday’s game with first-place Oklahoma, the Tigers had second place in the league all to themselves.
