Royals’ outfielder Emil Brown will have a few extra coins to jingle in his pocket this season. Brown learned yesterday that he had won his arbitration case with the Royals and will make $1.75 million in 2006—the Royals were offering $1.4 million. He made $355,000 in 2005.

Brown, who is 31, spent most of his career in the minor leagues before impressing the Royals in Spring Training by hitting the cover off the ball. He led the team in RBI’s (86) and runs (75) in 2005, while hitting .286 and hitting 17 home runs.
