House Speaker Rod Jetton says he’s disappointed Republicans lost a seat they had, but isn’t alarmed that the party lost two out of three special elections on Tuesday. In fact, Jetton is encouraged by the 136 vote loss of Republican Ed Groom to Democrat Michael Frame in 105th District of Jefferson, Franklin and St. Louis Counties. Republicans lost the seat vacated by Jack Goodman when he moved to the Senate. Democrat Charles Dake won in the most lop-sided race on Tuesday. Republicans held on to the seat vacated by Jodi Stefanick when she left for the Blunt Administration. Republican Dwight Scharnhorst defeated Democrat Genevieve Frank by 175 votes. Republicans now control the House by a margin of 97-66.
