Southeast Missouri St. dropped what seemed like a probable win on Thursday in a 60-55 defeat to Morehead St. The Eagles entered the game with a 15-game losing streak. The Redhawks’ loss extended their losing streak to five games.

SEMO’s biggest lead came when Ketshner Guerrier hit a layup with 6:18 to go in the first half to give the Redhawks a 20-15 advantage. Morehead St. responded by taking the lead back and held a 25-24 edge at the half.

The game remained tight in the second half; in fact neither team led by more than five points the entire game. SEMO’s last lead came when Terrick Willoughby hit a three pointer with 4:40 to go to make it 50-49. Roy Booker hit a three pointer with 11 seconds to cut the Eagles’ lead to 56-55, but couldn’t get closer.

Booker led SEMO with 22 points in the loss and was the only member of the team in double-digit scoring. They’re now 6-12 overall and 3-9 in the Ohio Valley Conference, while Morehead St. improved to 2-15 and 1-11.
