Back-to-back wins weren’t in the cards for the Blues, who lost to the Stars 4-3 in a shootout in Dallas. Mike Sillinger and Dennis Wideman both missed their shots in the shootout, while Sergei Zubov and Jussi Jokinen made theirs for Dallas.

The Blues rallied from behind in the third quarter to overcome a 2-1 deficit. Sillinger scored his 20th goal, 43 seconds into the third to tie the game at 2-2. At the 13:04 mark, Kevin Dallamn took advantage of a power-play with a goal assisted by Christian Backman and Petr Cajanek to give St. Louis a 3-2 lead.

St. Louis held on to that advantage until late Phillipe Boucher beat Blues goaltender Curtis Sanford with 47 seconds left in regulation. The Blues weren’t able to take advantage of a power-play in the overtime.

Despite getting out-shot 21-3 in the first, the Blues left the period with a 1-1 lead. In the second period, Zubov scored with 10 seconds to go to make it 2-1 Dallas.

The Blues are 1-5 in shootouts this season and the Stars are 6-0.
