Dolphins offensive coordinator Scott Linehan was hired as the Rams Head coach on Thursday. An official press conference introducing him in that capacity was held at 11AM on Friday. He has agreed to a four-year deal.

Linehan will come to St. Louis after one season with the Dolphins. Miami was 14th in the NFL in total offense in 2005 after finishing 29th in total offense in 2004. He also moved the Dolphins from 29th in the NFL in scoring with 17.2 points per game to 15th with 19.6 points per game.

In 2003, he was the offensive coordinator of the Vikings, when they led the league in total offense with 393.4 yards per game. Minnesota was sixth in NFL in scoring that season with 26 points per game. He was with the Vikings from 2002-2004. Before that, Linehan was an assistant in the college ranks with UNLV, Idaho, Washington and Louisville.
