The UMKC basketball team probably couldn’t get out of Fargo quick enough. The ‘Roos were out-paced by North Dakota St. 87-63 and allowed Bison to shoot 60.9 percent from the field on Tuesday. However that’s only half the story. SDSU opened up the game by hitting 72 percent of their shots in the first half (18-of-25) while UMKC made just 23 percent (6-of-25) in the first half. NDSU led 45-17 at the break.

UMKC played better in the second half, hitting 45 percent from the field, and outscored North Dakota St. 46-42 over the final 20 minutes, but the deficit was too great. Five Bison scored in double figures—Ben Woodside led the way with 22, while Mike Nelson added 18.

Quinton Day led the ‘Roos with 24 points in the loss. UMKC fell to 8-9 on the season.
