Secretary of State Robin Carnahan has taken the wraps off a key part of her office’s legislative package for the 2006 session of the General Assembly. First and foremost, Carnahan wants to promote small business growth through such moves as cutting the red tape associated with starting and maintaining a small business. Carnahan says promoting small business growth is crucial. Carnahan is also targeting investment fraud by calling for such things as implementation of stiffer penalties for those who commit securities fraud against seniors and disabled investors. In the coming weeks, Carnahan will release proposals dedicated to updating election laws.
