Governor Matt Blunt has signed an executive order creating the Missouri Healthcare Information Technology Task Force, a group assigned with the task of seeking how to use advanced technology to reduce medical costs and improve health care service. Blunt points out that those displaced by Hurricane Katrina have lost connection with their medical records, including prescription records. The Task Force also will recommend how to spend a $25-Million Healthcare Technology Trust Fund proposed by Governor Blunt in his State of the State Address.
