The Missouri Tigers stretched their winning streak to five games with a 71-69 upset win over 22nd-ranked Oklahoma in Norman on Tuesday night. Marshall Brown hit two free throws with 1.8 seconds remaining in the game to break a 69-69 tie. A last-second heave from Terrell Everett from halfcourt as time expired bounced off the backboard and Mizzou’s win was secure.

With the game tied and 35 seconds left on the clock, the Tigers were playing for the final shot. Jimmy McKinney had the ball knocked away, but went to a knee to retrieve it and passed the ball to Brown, who was fouled by Taj Gray while attempting a three pointer.

Brown finished with 21 points and six rebounds, while Thomas Gardner also scored 21 for the Tigers.

The Tigers had to overcome adversity throughout the second half. After trailing 33-32 at the half, the Tigers allowed OU to score the first six points of the second half to take a 39-32 lead.

With the win the Tigers extended their winning streak to five games and improved to 9-4 on the season and 2-0 in the Big 12. Oklahoma is 9-4 and 0-2.
