The Missouri Energy Task Force, set up by Governor Matt Blunt to look for ways to cut back on energy use and to cut down on the costs, has approved a resolution that would affect energy use at state facilities. David Mosby is Director of Facilities Management within the Office of Administration. He told the panel part of the solution is to shut down things that drain energy when those things are not in use. Mosby says the real key to cutting energy costs is getting a handle on the maintenance of the state’s facilities. He says it is imperative that lighting, heating, ventilation, and air conditioning systems are properly maintained so that they will run at optimum efficiency and in a cost effective manner.
