One weekend remains in the National Football League’s regular season and the Kansas City Chiefs are still alive in the hunt for a playoff spot. The Chiefs’ 20-7 win over San Diego on Saturday at Arrowhead Stadium eliminated the Chargers and left Kansas City with hope for a berth in the post season. But the Chiefs can’t do it alone. They’ll have to win against the Cincinnati Bengals next Sunday in the regular season finale at Arrowhead. Before that, they’ll have to hope the Denver Broncos can beat the Chargers on Saturday in San Diego. And, they’ll have to pull for the Detroit Lions to beat the Steelers on Sunday in Pittsburgh. Under the Dome in St. Louis, the Rams took a lead into the 4th Quarter against San Francisco, but couldn’t hold on. The 49ers scored a touchdown for the only points of the 2nd Half to beat the Rams 24-20. The game was meaningless as both the Rams and 49ers were already eliminated from the playoff hunt. For the record, the Rams go to 5-10 and close out their 2005 campaign next Sunday against the Cowboys in Dallas.
