The Missouri St. Lady Bears topped Oral Roberts 90-85 to win the Fun in the Sun Shootout in Mexico, thanks to the hot shooting of senior guard Kari Koch. All 30 of her points came from behind the three-point arc. Her ten three pointers was one shy of the school record. The Lady Bears hit 16-of-34 three pointers on the night.
The Lady Bears allowed ORU to go on an 8-0 run late in the game and their lead was cut to 87-85 with 32 seconds to go. Sophomore Tahnee Balerio lifted MSU when she converted a lay up while being fouled. Her free throw was good and the lead was back to five points. She finished with 10 points and ten assists.
Tiff Terwelp scored a career-high 24 points for MSU, which improved to 5-2.
