The UMKC men’s basketball team wrapped up a three-game road trip with a three-game losing streak. The ‘Roos (3-4) fell to South Dakota St. (3-7) 72-65 on Monday. UMKC got into a 39-28 hole at the half and trailed by as many as 12 in the second half.

They closest they got in the second half came with 1:28 to go, when Dee Ayuba hit a free throw to cut the Jackrabbit’s lead to 65-61. He scored 16 points and grabbed 12 rebounds. Tim Blackwell led UMKC in scoring with 18 points. Quinton Day had 12 points and six assists.

The ‘Roos were out-rebounded 42-27.
