A man who escaped from the Vernon County jail last summer has been caught in Polk County. Officers say Edward D. McBee was found with a stolen handgun, drug paraphernalia and illegal drugs. He’d gotten out of the Vernon County jail by kicking out a window. Since his breakout he’s been named in warrants in Jackson County and Camden County.
