The Saint Louis University men’s basketball team improved to 3-2 on Monday with a 69-53 home win over Jackson St.

The Billikens were led in scoring by Ian Vouyoukas, who had 18 points and grabbed a team-high 13 rebounds. Anthony Drejaj took care of business from the outside, hitting 4-of-7 three pointers to finish with 14 points. Drejaj has hit 50 percent of his three-point shots this season.

Tommie Liddell scored 13 points.

The Billikens earned the 16-point victory despite shooting just 39 percent from the field. However, from the free throw line they were solid, hitting 18-of-23 attempts from the charity stripe. Justin Johnson scored seven of his nine points for SLU from the free throw line.

SLU’s defense was smothering, as they held Jackson St. to just 32.7 percent shooting on the night.

The Billikens hit the road to face North Carolina on Wednesday night.
