The Governor’s Task Force on Eminent Domain is on schedule to submit its final report to Governor Blunt by the end of this month. Chairman Terry Jarrett says there are still some disagreements over some of the issues raised by panel members and by those testifying before the Task Force. He expects those to be ironed out and submitted to the Legislature for fine tuning. Jarrett says the panel is intent on setting up parameters for use of the term “blight” in determining whetehr eminent domain should be used in a land takeover. The Task Force came into being as a result of concern over a U.S. Supreme Court ruling in a Connecticut case.
