From the get-go, it was safe to say that the Missouri women’s basketball team was “feeling it”. The Tigers jumped out to 37-5 lead against Northwestern and put it on cruise control for an 87-64 win over the Wildcats.

All five of the Tiger starters scored at least 11 points on Tuesday, with senior LaToya Bond leading the way with 19. Junior Carlynn Savant had 16, EeTisha Riddle and Tiffany Brooks had 12 apiece and Christelle N’Garsanet added 11. Riddle led the team with nine rebounds.

After holding Northwestern to 28.6 percent shooting in the first half, Mizzou’s defense let up a little, as the Wildcats hit 16-of-31 shots over the final 20 minutes. MU shot 44.3 percent on Tuesday, to improve to 2-2. Northwestern fell to 1-1.
