The Blues hopes of turning consecutive wins into a streak were dashed on Tuesday with a 6-3 loss to the Kings. St. Louis ended an 11-game losing streak last week with a 2-0 victory over the Blue Jackets, and then followed it up with a 3-2 win in Detroit. Last night, St. Louis and L.A. entered the third period tied at 3-3 before the Kings exploded for three goals in the period.

After getting down 3-1 in the second period, the Blues bounced back before the intermission. Dean McAmmond at the 15:17 mark and Mark Rycroft scored at the 18:22 mark.

Curtis Sanford, who was named the NHL Defensive Player of the Week after stopping 68 of 70 shots on goal, was blasted Tuesday. He faced 27 shots and allowed five goals.

Former Blues winger Pavol Demitra assisted on four of the King’s goals, matching a career-high. Kings defenseman Joe Corvo scored two goals for the first time in his career. Dean McAmmond had two goals for the Blues.
