The longest losing streak in St. Louis Blues history came to an end on Wednesday, as the Blues topped the Columbus Blue Jackets 2-0 in Columbus. Rookie right winger Lee Stempniak broke a scoreless tie at the 12:13 mark of the third period with an unassisted goal—his third goal of the season. Four-and-a-half minutes later, Scott Young scored for the fifth time this season on a goal assisted by Stempniak and Barret Jackman to make it 2-0.

In goal, Curtis Sanford was perfect in his first start of the season, stopping all 36 goals he saw.

It was St. Louis’ first win since a 3-2 victory over Anaheim on October 19th and it marked just their third win of the season.
