Columbia’s Carl Edwards has done it again—he won for the second straight week, this time he took the checkered flag in Sunday’s NASCAR event at Texas Motor Speedway. The victory moved him up one spot in the points race to third, with two races to go. He trails leader Tony Stewart, who finished sixth, by 77 poinst and he’s 39 points behind Jimmie Johnson, who was fifth on Sunday.

St. Louis native Rusty Wallace was 22nd and dropped to ninth in the points.

Joplin’s Jamie McMurray, who didn’t qualify for the race for the cup, can finish no higher than 11th in the points and that’s where he stands after an 11th place finish on Sunday.

Fenton native Ken Schrader was 22nd on Sunday, while St. Louis native Mike Wallace was 36th.
