There may not be a logo—or a name to go with that logo—for the new Kansas City franchise in the Arena League, but what is known is who that unnamed entity will play. The AFL schedule was released yesterday and Kansas City will play its first game ever on January 29 at Dallas and their home opener will be on February 12 at Kemper Arena against the Austin Wranglers on February 12.

Kansas City was awarded the franchise last month, since New Orleans VooDoo was unable to play this year. When it is possible to do so, the Arena Football League will award New Orleans another franchise. Currently 15 members of last year’s VooDoo roster will play for Kansas City. Former Chiefs safety Kevin Porter is the head coach.

Fans will decide the name of the team via a contest—that name should be announced in the next seven to ten days.
