The Medicaid Reform Commission might not be holding public hearings in southern Missouri, but Democrats on the Commission will be in the Bootheel, Tuesday, nonetheless. The Commission Chairman cancelled a public hearing scheduled for Cape Girardeau and has refused to reschedule a meeting in Springfield that had to be cancelled earlier. State Representative Margaret Donnelly of St. Louis says she and her fellow Democrats decided to make a trip on their own. The public hearing will be held at Kennett’s VFW Hall. Donnelly says it’s important for the Commission to hear from those most impacted by Medicaid cuts. The Commission Chairman said the Commission needs to quit traveling so it can concentrate on writing a report for the entire Legislature.
