A record 7,298 fans made their way to the Hearnes Center, but they couldn’t cheer the 7th ranked MU volleyball team to a win over top-ranked Nebraska. The Huskers took the Tigers down three-games to one, handing Mizzou its first loss of the season.

The Tigers came out blazing in the first game, jumping out to a 7-1 lead, but Nebraska chipped away and eventually won 30-26. In the second game, the Tigers again got hot early, only this time they held on, winning 30-22. Mizzou took an early 11-3 advantage in that game.

Game three was a back and forth affair, as MU and NU were tied 21-21 at one point, but the Huskers pulled away to grab a 30-23 win. There were nine ties and three lead changes. Missouri put up a fight in the fourth game, but eventually lost 30-27. That game saw eight ties.

Ya Nang led the Tigers with 18 kills, while Lisa Boyd and Nicole Wilson added 12 apiece. Tatum Ailes had 20 digs and Shen Danru had 19.

The previous attendance record for an MU volleyball match was 2,632.
