Despite the fix of some technical language in the workers’ compensation reform bill, it’s still unclear who is covered and which injuries are covered under the new law. And, it will be that way until December 15th, when the new law with the technical changes takes effect. But one of the state’s business groups – Associated Industries of Missouri – is asking its 1,200 members to follow the spirit of the law and to make sure employees with job-related injuries are given access to the system. AIM’s Jim Kistler says it’s a good faith move. AIM says employees should continue to make claims as they have in the past, and employers should take steps to be sure they are not leaving themselves open to litigation.
