A spokesman for the Division of Family Support says changes made during the past year will improve its record on distributing child support payments. And, Deborah Scott says the criticisms made by the State Auditor need to be placed in perspective. The Auditor criticizes the Division for failing to distribute $4-Million. Scott points out that’s only one percent of the nearly $4-Billion the Division collects and gives to custodial parents. She says the biggest barrier to getting the money to the parents is a lack of a current address, which should be solved through a new electronic payment system. Scott says many of the improvements suggested by the Auditor have either been implemented or are being implemented.
