Opposition to government use of eminent domain to take land from property owners is spreading. An organization known as the Missouri Eminent Domain Abuse Coalition has been formed to increase awareness of concerns. Jim Roos of St. Louis, a group member, says what started as a grass roots movement in his city is spreading to individuals and groups in other parts of the state. Roos says that while a lot of St. Louis area residents are up in arms over the possibility of land takeovers, the State Legislature will only take serious action when the whole state shares the outrage.
