The University of Missouri-Columbia reports record enrollment on this first day of school. In all, 27,680 students are enrolled – an increase of more than two percent from last Fall. University officials are also touting their gains in minority enrollments. First-time Black freshmen enrollment is up more than nine percent from 2004. All first-time minority student numbers are up nearly seven percent from a year ago.
