The Kansas City Royals reached a new low on Thursday night. Jeff Liefer’s grand slam lifted the Cleveland Indians to a 4-2 win over Kansas City, extending the Royals’ losing streak to 13 games. That breaks the team record of 12 straight losses set in 1997. Kansas City actually led 2-0 after Chip Ambres and Terrence Long each delivered RBI singles in the 3rd. But Liefer’s grand slam in the 7th put the Indians on top for good. D.J. Carrasco took the loss after giving up four runs in 6 2/3 innings.
