The Springfield Cardinals made three errors in an 8-4 loss to the Arkansas Travelers on Thursday night in Little Rock. Springfield was in a 4-0 hole before Aaron Herr hit his 18th home run of the season to drive in Rick Ankiel and cut the Travelers’ lead to 4-2.

But Arkansas rebounded with a run of its own in the bottom half of the inning and added another two tallies in the fifth inning when Mike Eylward doubled in Gregory Porter and Jason Aspito singled in Eylwarfd. That made it 6-1. The Cardinals added a couple more runs to make it interesting, but never threatened.

Ankiel was 1-for-3 with a walk and an RBI.
