Official after official tells Senator Kit Bond that Missouri is too dry. His drought roundtable at the University of Missouri-Columbia included state and federal agriculture officials as well as representatives of the different crop groups Missouri has. Bond is vowing to get this state the federal monetary help it might need, although he admits that assistance might be in the form of loans farmers will have to pay back. There is some good news out on the horizon: forecasters are calling for some rain this week and some cooler temperatures – but not enough of either to truly break the drought.
