Two men were sitiing in a cave in northwest China. One of them was an American newspaperman and author. The other was a guerilla leader of the Chinese people. They talked about the leader’s dream for those who supported him. There developed between these two men a respect which bridged cultural and political differences. The Chinese guerilla leader was Mao Tse-tung. The American was Edgar C. Snow. For thirty-five years Snow did much to tell the world about Mao Tse-tung, this mysterious Chinese leader.
