As information comes to light that the London terrorists could have been homegrown, some questions arise about if there are similar cells waiting here. British Prime Minister Tony Blair said he was shocked to learn the terrorists who hit London’s bus and train system might be British citizens. Senator Bond says in our own country we’ve had to deal with homegrown terrorists for years. Bond says these are continuing problems for homeland security efforts. Bond says the attacks in London seemed to have only strengthened the resolve of the British people, even those who were harsh critics of the war on terror. Bond dismisses the idea there might be nuclear weapons stored in major cities across the country, waiting for detonation by Al-Qaeda terrorists. He says a London-type bombing on the nation’s mass transit system seems more likely.
