Missouri has a new law making it illegal to possess or distribute unauthorized prescription drugs on school property. Governor Blunt has signed the bill into law. Senator Kevin Engler of Farmington sponsored the bill. Engler says a lot of prescription drugs are being used or dealt in schools. Engler says he knows of one school that has had three children hospitalized because of adverse effects of prescription drugs. Enlger points out his bill bill seeks to help, not punish students, caught. It gets them into the juvenile system so they can be cared for.He says the Partnership for Drug Free America says it’s the fastest growing kind of drug abuse in young people.
