State Senator Larry Gene Taylor has died of cancer complications. He was 51 and had finished his first term as a Senator this Spring. Although battling cancer, Taylor played an active role throughout this year’s regular legislative session. His biggest issue was a bill requiring people to prove their citizenship before they could register to vote. Taylor was the son of longtime southwest Missouri Congressman Gene Taylor.
