Governor Matt Blunt is traveling the state, taking part in ceremonial signings of the Quality Jobs Act. The legislation provides incentives to businesses locating in Missouri, but requires companies to pay good wages and benefits, including health care benefits. Blunt says this is how tax incentives should be used. Benefits are also available under the program for existing Missouri businesses that improve conditions by providing good wages and benefits to their employees. Blunt says this is the kind of legislation that spurs economic growth.
