The Royals overcame a 7-3 deficit and led 8-7, only to lose 11-8 to the Twins on Tuesday. Shannon Stewart’s RBI single in the seventh inning gave Minnesota the go-ahead run and was part of a three-run rally.

The Twins scored four times in the bottom of the fourth to take 7-3 lead, but Kansas City countered with a three-run rally in the top of the fifth to get within a run. Shane Costa drove in a run with a single, David DeJesus hit a sacrifice fly to score Costa and Terrence Long hit an RBI single.

The Royals tied the game on John Buck’s RBI single in the sixth inning to score Matt Stairs. Costa, who went 3-for-4 with three RBI’s, grounded to second with runners at second and third to score Mark Teahen to give Kansas City the short-lived lead.

Andy Sisco got the loss in relief and fell to 1-2, as the Royals lost their eighth straight game. That’s one shy of their longest skid of the season.
