The Springfield Cardinals ended a three-game losing streak by beating Corpus Christi 7-3 at Hammons Field. Aaron Herr hit a single, a double and a home run and drove in two to lead the way at the plate for the Cardinals. Miko Jamarillo and Travis Hanson also went deep for the Cardinals.

Springfield held a 3-1 lead before scoring four runs in the eighth inning. Herr’s two-run homer capped the rally. Starting pitcher Jordan Pals ran his record to 4-5 by lasting seven innings. He gave up just two hits and no runs, while striking out five and walking none. Reliever Corey Doyne got his third save, despite allowing two ninth inning runs.

With the win, Springfield is now 2-4 in the second half of the season.
