Former All-State quarterback and University of Missouri recruit Darrell Jackson will spend 120 days in jail for molesting a little girl five times over a three-and-a-half year period. That sentence was handed down yesterday.

Because of Missouri law, Judge Larry Kendrick could either sentence Jackson to five years of shock probation, which carried the 120-day sentence in a local jail or a 10-150 year sentence in state prison.

After Jackson’s jail time is over, his five-year probation will begin. During that time he will have to register himself as a sex offender, wear an electronic tracking device and perform 200 hours of community service. Jackson will also be forced to pay for any future counseling for the victim. His athletic career will also be put in jeopardy—he’s barred from participating in any collegiate athletics during the five-year probation.

The abuse, which Jackson admitted to, began when the girl was eight years old and he was 14. The last incident was in April of 2004., Jackson will Jackson led Webster Groves High School to a class 5 state championship as a junior in 2002 and to the title game in 2003, but lost to Park Hill.

He’ll report to jail on July 7.
