Missouri politicians and some local leaders will try to convince the Base Realignment and Closure Commission today not to shut down a National Guard fighter wing in St. Louis and some offices there and in Kansas City. A Commission spokesman has sent a message to participants to stick to the facts and leave the emotions at home. He says the final decisions will be made on the criteria behind the recommendations, not emotional pleas.
