The Kansas City Chiefs signed wide receiver Az-Zahir Hakim on Wednesday. On June 6, Hakim worked out with the team and verbally agreed to a one-year deal. Terms of the deal were not announced by the Chiefs .

Hakim spent the first four seasons of his career with the Rams and was an integral part of the offense known as “The Greatest Show on Turf.” In 1999, Hakim caught 36 passes for an average of 18.8 yards per reception, with eight touchdowns. The Rams, who were coached by Dick Vermeil, won the Super Bowl that season.

After the 2001 season, Hakim signed with the Lions and played in Detroit for three seasons before getting released earlier this year
