The Springfield Cardinals probably wouldn’t pose any objections to skipping the rest of their games with the Arkansas Travelers. They lost to Arkansas for the ninth time in twelve tries this season, falling 10-3 on Monday in Little Rock.

Arkansas touched Springfield for six unearned runs in the third inning.Coming into the frame, the Cardinals trailed just 3-2, but that slim advantage was gone in a hurry. Starting pitcher Jordan Pals had his shortest outing of the season, lasting just 2 2/3 innings.

With just six games remaining in the first half of the season, Springfield is six games behind first place Tulsa in the Texas League East Division. The division winners in each half of the season qualify for the playoffs.
