The Springfield Cardinals won a 12-inning thriller on Tuesday night to move back over the .500 mark for the season. Shaun Boyd’s two-out, bases-loaded single in the bottom of the 12th inning gave Springfield a 7-6 win over the Wichita Wranglers.

The game was full of ups and downs for the Cardinals. They led 5-3 going into the top of the ninth, but reliever Evan Rust gave up a three run homer to Justin Huber to give Wichita a 6-5 advantage.

In the bottom of the ninth, Andy Schutzenhofer drilled a double to left and Travis Hanson scored from second to tie the game. Catcher Robinson Cancel followed behind Hanson but was thrown out to force extra innings.

With the win the Cardinals improved to 30-29 on the season.
