A group of school districts in Missouri will press on with its lawsuit against the State, saying the new school funding formula approved by the Legislature doesn’t address the complaints contained in its lawsuit. The group says it will amend its petition before the court, but that it still insists the new formula doesn’t meet constitutional requirements and isn’t truly student-needs based, the contention of legislators who devised the new plan. The school districts also says the seven-year phase in period for extra school money doesn’t provide enough money soon enough to satisfy constitutional requirements.
