The Springfield Cardinals are above .500 for the first time ever. They compelted a sweep of the Frisco RoughRiders with a 2-0 win on Sunday. That win moved them to 29-28 on the season and got them out of last place in the Texas League West.

Cardinals starter Jeremy Cummings lasted seven innings and gave up just one hit. That came off the bat of former SMS star Jason Hart in the first. Cummings retired the next 19 batters he faced.

Papo Bolivar gave Springfield the only run they’d need when he hit a two-out home run off RoughRiders starter Edison Volquez in the in the sixth inning. Juan Diaz made it 2-0 in the eighth with a solo homer. Diaz has home runs in three straight games.

Springfield has won four in a row for the first time in franchise history.
