Freedom for the former Roman Catholic priest and St. Louis school counselor who had a sexual misconduct conviction tossed out by the State Supreme Court. James Beine, also known as Mar James, has been released from prison. Beine had been convicted on several counts of sexual misconduct after a number of students claimed he had exposed himself in a boys’ restroom. Beine’s attorneys claimed the law under which their client was convicted was vague and unconstitutional. The Supreme Court agreed. It ordered his release and Beine is now a free man.
