The Springfield Cardinals dropped their series opener with the Frisco RoughRiders 3-2 in ten innings on Thursday night. The game was decided entirely by solo home runs. The Cardinals got solo shots by Robinson Cancel and Aaron Herr in the fourth and seventh innings.

The RoughRiders struck in the fourth inning to tie it at 1-1 when Seth Taylor went deep for Frisco. Joaquin Arias hit a solo shot in the bottom of the seventh to make it 2-2.

Mike Nickeas hit the game-winner for frisco off reliever Anthony Rawson, who dropped to 1-2 on the season.
