Bunker Hill, Valley Forge, Charleston, Lexington, Philadelphia, Yorktown. These are places one normally associates with the American Revolution. But the war was fought far to the west of those places too. We even had a significant Revolutionary War battle fought in Missouri. Had it not turned out as it did, America as we know it might not exist today. Britain wanted to regain the Northwest Territory. In February, 1780, a force of 950 Indians and French and English traders was mobilized on the Fox and Wisconsin Rivers. The group began to move south.
