The Springfield Cardinals grabbed a 4-2 road win over the Midland RockHounds on Monday. Starter Randy Leek improved to 4-2 on the season with a seven inning performance. He had a shutout going until Brant Colamarino hit a two-run homer in the seventh inning. Leek completed the inning and won his second straight decision.

Anthony Ferrari finished the game off with two innings of relief work.

At the plate, the Cardinals scrapped for their six runs. Papo Bolivar gave Springfield the lead with a one-out double to score Travis Hanson. Later in the inning, Juan Diaz delivered a two-out single to score Bolivar. The Cardinals scored three timesi nt he third inning with a sacrifice fly, a bases loaded walk and an RBI single from Bolivar to make it 5-0. Aaron Herr made it 6-0 in the fifth with a two-out RBI single.

The Cardinals improved to 20-24 with the win on Monday.
